김명국前서울치대학장이 지난 9월 5~8일 광주 김대중컨벤션센터에서 열린 ‘제21차 세계해부학회학술대회(IFAA2024광주학술대회·The 21st Congress of the International Federation of Association of Anatomists) 환영식에서 약 15분간 영어로 “발전하자”는 내용의 건배사(Toast Remarls)를 제안해 참가자들의 우렁찬 환호와 박수가 이어졌다.
세계해부학회 학술대회(IFAA Congress, Congress of the International Federation of Association of Anatomists)는 2년마다 각국을 순회하며 개최되며 올해는 광주에서 열려 61여개국 1,200여명의 해부학 전공 의사들이 참석했다. 기조연설, 특별강연 5강, 구연 191편, 포스터발포 348편, 심포지움 48개가 펼쳐졌으며 26업체 38부스 규모의 전시회도 함께 열렸다.
우리나라에선 처음으로 개최된 이번 IFAA2024광주학술대회엔 대한해부학회 회장을역임한 바 있는 김명국학장이 대표로 전세계 해부학자들에게 인사와 함께 “더욱 발전하자”는 내용의 건배사를 힘차게 외쳐 장내의 환호와 박수가 멈출줄 몰랐다.
현재 세계해부학회(IFAA) 회장은 Beverly Kramer명예교수(남아공Witwatersrand의대 해부학교실), 대한해부학회(KAA) 회장은 이문용교수(가톨릭의대 해부학교실) 간사장은 김희진교수(연세치대 구강생물학교실)이고 이번 IFAA2024 광주학술대회는 제74차 대한해부학회(KAA) 학술대회 (The 74th Congress of the Korean Association of Anatomists)와 공동으로 개최됐으며 한승호교수(이화의대 해부학교실)가 조직위원장을 맡았다.
다음 대회는 2026년 8월 호주 멜버른에서 제22차 세계해부학회학술대회가 개최된다.
김명국교수의 건배사(Toast Remarks)는 다음과 같다.
Ladies & Gentlemen, welcome to Korea.
As the Emcee(MC) just introduced me, I am Professor emeritus at Seoul National University and a former president of the Korean Association of Anatomists.
IFAA 2024 Gwangju Congress have 1,180 registered participants from 61 countries and have a fruitfull conference with keynote speech, 191 oral presentaions, 345 poster presentaions, 45 symposiums and 38 booth from 26 company.
We are pleased to be holding an academic conference with many participants from many countries and rich content.
Personally, I would believe that these meeting will be growing continuously and give a big progress for our scientific research.
I hope will be able to have more intimate friendship between Korea and other countries.
Finally, I sincerely hope you will have a great time and enjoy nice meal tonight

I would like to propose a toast to the successful conclusion of the congress and to the further development of IFAA.
